Tracfone helps my school kids have a cell phone too!

Tracfone - Tour,6935,1

My tween son has decided he wants a cell phone. And after a lot of consideration, my hubby and I are inclined to get him one. We agree, he is at the age and has various activities that allow him to need his own cell phone. But we’re not prepared to fork out a ton to add him to our service, so we decided to go with a Tracfone instead. Adding him to our And Tracfone has many benefits over a contract phone plan:

  • TracFone offers the least expensive way to own and use a cell phone in America.
  • There are no contracts, no credit checks, no activation charges or cancelation fees. No surprises!

Great nationwide coverage and excellent reception/connectivity.

  • Brand name phones from leading manufacturers like Motorola, Kyocera, LG, Nokia and Samsung. Choose from simple “Candy Bar” phones, to Bluetooth®-enabled “Smart” phones.
  • Monthly Plans:
  • Pay as you go online or with cards available at thousands of retail stores across the country.
  • 1 year service cards give you so much more. Receive double minutes for the life of your TracFone, and 800 minutes, for only $119.00
  •  “Double minutes for the life of your phone” is a feature that can be purchased separately for only$19.99, but some phones include it!
  • Choose monthly plans with 200 minutes for under $30.00, and as low as $9.99 for 50 minutes.
  • International Long Distance:
  • This is the only wireless service where you can call internationally, for the same price as any other call.
  • Call over 60 international destinations directly from your TracFone at no extra cost!
  • With the International Neighbors program, you can provide family and friends in Mexico or Canada a local phone number in those countries to reach you at your TracFone in the U.S.

Another thing I like, and so does our son, is that he doesn’t have to be stuck with a dinky little basic phone, Tracfone also offers phones packed with features like camera/video recorder, web access, app capabilities, mp3 player, and full QWERTY keyboard, for only $29.9. So he can still have the Smartphone he longs for without breaking our budget! He wants to be able to text his friends if he wants or to send a quick text home if he needs something but can’t actually call. I want him to have a phone where he can be totally connected but without the huge cost. And I think this is the way to go.

Hubby and I are actually going to be looking for the perfect Tracfone this weekend. School is about to start back so we need to get on it and get the boy a phone! He is BEYOND excited!

My son didn’t think it was cool to have a Tracfone a few months ago until Tracfone brought out the EX124g touch screen phone, 3mp camcorder etc. which now he is eager to get good grades for so he can get his phone on his birthday.
I have found it’s great to get the younger kids on Tracfone’s family value plan at $5.99 for 40 minutes a month each but once the kids are 15 or so I think it’s better to put them on the $19.99 plan with 90 days service and 120 minutes (if you have the double minutes for the life of the plan) as they socialize more with friends.
I’ve experienced good coverage using Tracfone and it certainly saves you a small fortune.

So glad I found this and for mentioning the EX124g. I went to the TracFone website and they are offering it with triple minutes for life. This makes it a really good deal on a really great phone. It has so many great features and especially like the qwerty keyboard. I still think my favorite part is that you never have to deal with a contract!

I was thinking of getting a TracFone for my kids. I’m a single parent and I have a very limited monetary allowance, so TracFone seems like a good fit for my lifestyle. My kids are going to high school, and they want, of course, cooler phones. I want the reliability and the good reception to be able to call them or text them when needed. How good is TracFone compared to other companies on this?

We have actually had both TracFone and Net10 prepaid phones. They are comparable and the debate was which one we were going to choose. Both now offer smartphone type phones. Both now offer many affordable prepaid plans. Do a search on both sites to see which have the best coverage in your area.

We decided on the TracFone because they have some offers with free minutes and free shipping that fit what we are looking for, for our son. But both services did really well here in our area.
